Camster is a small-scale cam site featuring models primarily from the United States. There’s limited info on the site’s background, although Camster appears to be based in Miami. The site claims to receive over two million distinct viewers a day.
Despite those supposed two million daily visitors, the site comes across as a small side project hosting amateur models out of someone’s living room. At the time I wrote this, there were only 157 camgirls, no camboys, one couple, and one trans* model online. Compared to other sites, those are pretty slim pickings. And although a cam site isn’t exactly supposed to be focused on its stellar writing, the site itself is loaded with typos and errors, which always makes me question a company’s credibility and how seriously they take their business. Small stuff, but when a company doesn’t seem to care, it’s easy to wonder how seriously they take their cybersecurity, and the privacy of their viewers and models.
Camster offers different levels of intimacy in the chatroom, and even features a spy mode, which lets you hop in and
peek at a private chat – a nice plus for all you voyeurs out there. Like most cam sites, viewers can tip models as
they work to say thanks for a good time or put in requests. Camster also lets members rate models based on their
looks and performance, helping viewers filter by high-ranked models (or unranked ones, for those looking to give
newbies a friendly boost).
One of Camster’s more unique offerings is the option for viewers to share their own cam with models in both the
group and private chats, to have a sexier and more shared experience between themselves and the models. This,
especially in the private chat, gives members a more intimate exchange than other sites may allow.
Like most cam sites, it’s free to register and create an account. Once all signed up, members can participate in
free group chats where they get to know the models and decide whether they want to pay and bring models into a show
or private chat. While watching the models work the free chat, they often have something they call their “topic” –
something they’ll do, talk about, or perform once they’ve raised enough money from generous tippers.
If the model’s topic arouses you(r interest), you can tip them and help reach their goal. When the model reaches the
amount she’s looking for, she’ll then start the show and perform the acts discussed and requested.
Beyond these topics and tipping, models also host Private Chats and Group Shows:
Group Shows are generally $1.99 per minute. As many people can enter the chat as they want, where
they can watch, tip, and participate.
Private Chats, on the other hand, are much more intimate. They’re one-on-one shows between the
model and the member, and cost around $3.99 per minute. Only one person can chat, watch, tip, and participate in a
private chat, but others can go in as voyeurs for a lower price. They can watch, but not chat or participate in any
way.
Most cam sites don’t offer videos for sale, and that’s a nice additional perk for members to purchase so they can
watch models at work on their own time. Camster is also one of the few sites that offer a spy mode, which is great
for all the voyeurs who are eager to peer in on intimate moments (or are just looking to save their wallet).
Finally, the models receive 50% of the money they earn, which is a better cut than many other sites and tends to
translate to better quality, recurring models.
Unfortunately, that higher payout for models hasn’t seemed to help Camster snag more fresh faces on the site – it’s
incredibly small. With only about 200 models total, there’s not a whole lot of action here compared to other cam
sites. Because it’s so small, there’s little-to-no diversity for picking models. Mostly, it’s white women working
alone. With no men, one couple, and one trans* model, Camster isn’t the place for viewers eager to watch someone who
isn’t a solo, white camgirl. Another thing knocking down this site’s ranking is that you can’t search models by any
filter other than gender – no kinks, no body type, not even region.
Finally, although the site advertises photos for sale, none are actually offered on the site. Instead, the button
links to something else entirely. The whole website is like that, sending you to broken link after broken link.
With all this in mind, it’s pretty hard to justify dropping cash on such an expensive camming site.
If you’re looking for a more vanilla experience with single, white camgirls, Camster may be the place to go. But if you’re eager for any kind of variety, enjoy a specific kink, or have a particular preference when it comes to body type, language spoken, sexuality, or toys, you’re better off putting your money into a different site altogether.
2 out of 5 – but only because the models get a decent cut of their earnings.
